Cea de-a 96-a nominalizare anuală la Premiile Academiei a ridicat întrebarea definitivă de film a sezonului: este acesta anul „Barbie” sau „Oppenheimer”? Cele două filme amintite, „Killers of the Flower Moon”, „The Holdovers” și „Poor Things” au primit nominalizări la categoria cea mai bună imagine și, în cea mai mare parte, au primit nominalizări la toate marile categorii.
Încă nu știm care dintre cele două emblematice filme va fi favoritul, deoarece fiecare a primit mai multe nominalizări („Barbie” – opt, „Oppenheimer” – 13).
Trebuie totuși să nu focalizăm toată atenția doar pe aspectul comercial al filmelor, ci și la calitatea acestora, filmele care „candidează” anul acesta fiind toate un bun exemplu de filme bine realizate de regizori profesioniști, alături de actori de calibru, cunoscuți sau mai puțin cunoscuți, cu efecte speciale, costume sau imagine care își merită locul la această gală.
